Getting started with Dida

A short setup guide for the first release channel.

Install

  1. Download the installer or zip archive for your platform from the download page.
  2. Verify the SHA-256 checksum against SHA256SUMS.txt.
  3. Run the installer or extract the zip archive to a location you control.
  4. Open a folder and start your normal terminal, git, and editor workflow.

Update checks

Dida can request /releases.json to detect a newer version. The check is at most daily and the response contains a version, date, notes, and platform URLs. It does not attach an account ID or telemetry identifier.

Licensing

Personal use and small organizations are free under the Dida Source-Available License. Larger commercial use needs an active subscription. See pricing and license.

Issue reporting

Use issue intake for bugs, crashes, install problems, and licensing questions. Include your platform and version when possible.

Data locations

Dida stores local user data under %APPDATA%\Dida on Windows and ~/.dida on Unix-like systems. Workspace files remain in the folders you open.
